AT ARROWHEAD. WE SAW THE OVERLAND PARK NATIVE, ALONG WITH BRENDAN HUNT, WHO PLAYS COACH BEARD. JUNO TEMPLE, WHO PLAYS KEELEY JONES, AND JEREMY SWIFT, WHO PLAYS LESLIE HIGGINS. NOW, THE TED LASSO CAST HAD A BUSY DAY IN KC. THE CREW STOPPED BY KC STADIUM FIRST TO PROMOTE THE FOURTH SEASON OF TED LASSO, SET TO HIT APPLE TV ON AUGUST 5TH, KMBC9 ALAN SHOPE WAS THERE FOR A VERY FUN PRESS CONFERENCE. WELL, IT’S BEEN THE MOST POPULAR SHOW ON APPLE TV FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS, AND LAST SUMMER, THE SERVICE ANNOUNCING THAT TED LASSO WOULD BE BACK FOR A FOURTH SEASON. YOU MIGHT RECALL THIS TIME LAST YEAR, JASON SUDEIKIS AND THE CREW WERE SEEN FILMING ON THE PLAZA AND OTHER SPOTS AROUND THE METRO ON SEASON FOUR. THE NEW SEASON BASED AROUND LASSO RETURNING TO COACH IN ENGLAND. ONLY THIS TIME IT’S A WOMEN’S TEAM. SO ON THAT NOTE, IT’S ONLY FITTING THE GROUP OFFICIALLY HOLDING THEIR PRESS CONFERENCE FOR TED LASSO AT CPKC STADIUM THIS AFTERNOON IN KANSAS CITY. THEY SAY THE STADIUM MEANS A TON, AND THEY HOPE THE PLOT OF TED LASSO FOUR IS A STRONG MESSAGE. I THINK IT’S REALLY NEAT THAT WE GOT WHAT’S BEEN GOING ON HERE AND HAS BEEN GOING ON HERE FOR A WHILE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE CURRENT. I THINK IT MIGHT BE COOL, THOUGH, THAT SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE FANS OF TED LASSO ALREADY THAT WATCH IT, THAT HAVEN’T NECESSARILY PAID ATTENTION TO WOMEN’S FOOTBALL, THEY MIGHT HAVE THEIR EYES OPENED AND BE MORE TUNED INTO IT. Season 4 of “Ted Lasso” centers on the coach’s return to England to coach a women’s soccer team. It’s set to premiere on Apple TV on Aug. 4.Less than a year ago, Sudeikis and several other cast members were spotted in a barbecue restaurant, grocery store and neighborhood around the KC metro filming for the show. It’s no coincidence that the cast took questions from the press Saturday at the first stadium in the world purpose-built for women’s sports as they promote the new season. “I think it’s really neat,” said Sudeikis. “What’s been going on here and has been going on here for a while, especially with the Current.”Juno Temple, who plays Keeley Jones in the show, said she hopes the new season of “Ted Lasso” will create new fans of women’s soccer. “I think it might be cool that some of the people that are fans of Ted Lasso already, that watch it, they haven’t necessarily paid attention to women’s football, they might have their eyes open and be more tuned into it, and so we might have just a handful of people who will suddenly be like, ‘I’m going to watch a women’s football game,'” Temple said.The cast spoke with a crowd of supporters at CPKC Stadium before heading to Arrowhead Stadium for the quarterfinal match between Argentina and Switzerland.
