MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine women’s tennis head coach Tassilo Schmid has announced the addition of Sami Ozzor to the program’s staff as an assistant coach.

A Daytona Beach, Florida native, Ozzor joins the Waves immediately following a standout collegiate career at Stetson University.

“I am honored and blessed to be joining such a prestigious program here at Pepperdine,” said Ozzor. “This means a lot to me and I am ready to work hard and make a difference here in Malibu. I want to thank Tassilo Schmid for this great opportunity and I look forward to learning from him each day. Go Waves. NSR”

During his time with the Hatters, Ozzor compiled an impressive singles record, featuring marks of 17-4 in 2025 and 14-4 in 2024. In doubles, he logged a 5-1 total record across his junior and senior campaigns. He was a member of the Hatters squad that advanced to the ASUN Championship match in 2025, as Ozzor clinched in the semifinals with the match tied 3-3.

His freshman season saw Ozzor burst onto the scene with an 11-2 overall singles mark including a 6-1 record in conference play. He was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team following his standout debut campaign.

Before his collegiate career, Ozzor was among Florida’s top junior players. A graduate of Spruce Creek High School, he was named Mr. Tennis in Florida, captured a state singles championship and claimed the Bobby Curtis Boys 18s title in 2020. He achieved the No. 1 USTA ranking in both the Boys 16s and 18s divisions and was ranked as high as No. 1 in the state while also earning a four-star recruit rating and a top-100 national ranking.
