The Winnipeg Jets have signed first-round pick Viggo Bjorck to a three-year, entry-level contract, the NHL team announced Monday.
The contract has average annual value of $1.075 million US.
Bjorck was the eighth overall pick in June’s draft.
He was coming off a 15-point season (six goals, nine assists) for Djurgardens of the Swedish Hockey League.
Bjorck also helped lead Sweden to world junior championship gold.
The five-foot-nine, 180-pound centre had nine points (three goals, six assists) in seven games during the tournament.
