EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State women’s tennis team earned 2025-26 Division I ITA Academic Team accolades, while all nine MSU individual student-athletes on the Spartans’ roster also captured ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Monday.
Sophomore Ellie Blackford, sophomore Amara Brahmbhatt, senior Sarah Fazlagic, senior Matilde Morais, redshirt-junior Oriana Parkins-Godwin, sophomore Nina Plihal, senior Issey Purser, freshman Anna Maria Tottrup and redshirt-junior Hanna Tsitavets, were all recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
For Fazlagic, this is her fourth time receiving the accolade, while Morais and Purser both garnered the recognition for the third time. Blackford, Parkins-Godwin and Tsitavets are two-time recipients, while Brahmbhatt, Plihal and Tottrup collected the honors for the first time.
As a program, MSU has now been named an ITA All-Academic Team for the 13th-consecutive year and the 18th time overall.
In 2026, 1,501 Division I women’s student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 231 women’s tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
