Coffee shop owner describes caring for shot teen
Calay Hall, owner of Krave Coffee, a local coffee shop and bar in the St. Clair area, said she saw people running into the store, screaming and ducking down at around 8 p.m.
At first, Hall said she didn’t know what was going on because she didn’t hear the gunshots.
Hall said she went over to check on her business next door and found 10 teenagers inside, including “a girl, sitting on my office chair, who had been shot in the arm.”
She said one of the teens helped put pressure on the wound while she ran out to look for police.
“I just went out in the street and was yelling, I’ve got a gunshot wound in here,” she said.
Hall said she was trying to keep the teen calm as police officers came in and applied a tourniquet on her arm.
“She just kept saying I wanna go home, I wanna go home,” Hall said.
