The Coronation Street drama centres around cobbles killer Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) in a single strand episode next week.

After months of secrecy, deception and panic, the walls are finally closing in. Her bent copper boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) tries to offer some reassurance that she’s not in the frame, though it soon becomes clear that every strand of evidence is pointing towards her.

As the Platt clan gather to record a birthday message for much-missed matriarch Audrey, they’re stopped in their tracks by a knock at the door – it’s the police, and Sarah’s under arrest!

But what about her accomplice Gary Windass (Mikey North)? Is he about to walk away scot-free, or will she dob him in?

Elsewhere, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) struggles with her rehabilitation, Christina Boyd makes another bad move and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) has some big news.

Here’s everything happening in Coronation Street in week commencing Monday 20 July.

As Kit attempts to glean information about Theo’s murder from McLaughlin, he is met with a frosty response that leaves the detective increasingly uneasy. Convinced that Gary’s arrest is imminent, Kit warns Sarah, whose anxiety only deepens when she realises her wedding outfit remains in police hands.

Rumours soon spread across the cobbles, but the investigation takes a dramatic turn when the evidence begins to point squarely at Sarah. Just as the Platts finish recording a birthday message for Audrey, officers arrive to arrest her on suspicion of murder, leaving the family reeling.

Sarah protests her innocence, yet the pressure mounts when Lisa informs Kit that she is now the force’s prime suspect and that his own conduct is under scrutiny. Despite Kit’s attempts to support his girlfriend, she finds herself formally charged.

Meanwhile, Maria fears that Gary could still be in the firing line. Her suspicions are heightened when a photograph from Carla’s wedding appears to place him on the Street at a time he claimed to be elsewhere. Faced with the incriminating image, Gary struggles to explain himself.

Later, Kit urges Sarah to come clean about Gary’s role in events. Watching him enjoy a cosy family meal while she remains behind bars leaves Kit furious, unaware that Gary is consumed with guilt.

As Kit grapples with the challenges of helping to raise Harry, Adam offers a welcome hand. At Victoria Court, Maria can no longer ignore her conscience and tells Gary she intends to withdraw the false alibi she gave the police.
