They’re bringing ‘tiffins and meals’ to Broadway and Cambie.
A new restaurant is taking over an empty space on West Broadway.
Mandhras Cafe has signs up at 382 West Broadway, just steps from City Hall Station (which will soon include service from the Broadway SkyTrain extension).
The new restaurant advertises “coffee, dosa, soup, soul” on the signs, while online it promises to bring “South Indian soul to Vancouver.” The focus of the new cafe appears to be a quick-service restaurant with coffee and South Indian dishes, but a menu hasn’t been released yet.
“At Mandhras, we aren’t just serving coffee and food; we’re redesigning the South Indian culinary experience from the ground up. We’ve taken age-old family recipes and integrated them into a modern, high-efficiency cafe model that never sacrifices authenticity for speed,” reads the restaurant’s LinkedIn bio.
While the brand is new, the goal is to open multiple locations.
“We provide consistent, affordable tiffins and meals using traditional recipes and modern efficiency. Perfect for campuses and offices seeking a unique cultural connection,” reads the LinkedIn page.
Tiffins refers to quick and easy breakfast and lunch options.
The new restaurant is replacing The Greek on Broadway, which opened in December 2023, after Heritage Asian Eatery closed earlier that year. The space has been empty since September 2025.
