They’ll have some unique flavours at their new spot.

Soon, Granville Island will have some new flavours.

Local ice cream maker Earnest Ice Cream has announced its fifth scoop shop will be opening up in the recently refurbished Chain and Forge building.

“Our first shop opening in nearly 10 years, finding our fifth location was something that we wanted to take our time with. It had to feel right,” reads an Instagram post from Earnest.

They plan on opening up in the fall, though a specific date hasn’t been announced.

The new ice cream shop will offer some classic Earnest options and some unique flavours, along with ice cream sandwiches and sundaes. It’ll also continue Earnest’s practice of reusable (and returnable) glass jars.

“We’ve always loved Granville Island’s mix of makers and food lovers. It feels like home,” says co-owner Katie Boyd in a post from Granville Island.

Founders and friends Erica Bernardi and Ben Ernst started Earnest in 2012, operating as a tricycle at local farmers markets. They’ve gone on to open several shops, an ice cream truck, and sell their ice cream in grocery stores around the region.
