Entering the 2026 season, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s JRM driver, Justin Allgaier, had admitted to his plans of stepping away from the sport at the end of the season. However, those plans seem to have changed.
Earlier this year, during his media availability in Nashville, the 2024 O’Reilly champion spoke candidly about his future in the sport. He admitted that he considered leaving the sport at the end of the season when his contract ended, saying, “I can’t promise you anything.”
However, co-owner of JR Motorsports, Kelley Earnhardt, has put these rumors to rest. During her recent appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR radio, while talking to Larry McReynolds, Kelley revealed that Allgaier will be back with the team for the next couple of seasons in the O’Reilly series.
“Justin is just – he’s been on fire, and I’m so glad that we talked him into coming back for a couple more years and not retiring yet and continuing to see what they can rack up,” she said in the interview posted on X on Thursday.
