The fatal crash happened near Bloor Street W. and Dufferin Street just after 8 a.m., police said in a post on social media.

The driver of the sedan remained on the scene, while the man riding the scooter was taken to hospital with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead, police said in an update around 10:40 a.m.

Police have not released further details about the identity of the victim.
