As the summer months have heated up, so has NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points leader Layne Riggs, who won the pole for Saturday’s Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro on Friday afternoon.
Riggs turned a lap of 18.502 seconds/121.608 miles per hour around the 0.625-mile North Carolina short track, earning his second pole of 2026 and the sixth of his Truck Series career.
Riggs also sat on the pole last week at Lime Rock Park.
Notable qualifying results
Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar, who was fastest in Truck Series practice on Friday afternoon, will join Riggs on the front row, with Christopher Bell, Corey Heim and Gio Ruggiero rounding out the top five. Chase Elliott, Kaden Honeycutt, Grant Enfinger, Chandler Smith and Stewart Friesen completed the top 10.
Other notable qualifying efforts include Justin Haley in 13th, Tanner Gray in 14th, Jake Garcia in 15th, Shane van Gisbergen in 19th and Ben Rhodes in 22nd.
Frankie Muniz qualified last (36th) with a time of 19.619 seconds/114.685 miles per hour, while Landon Huffman and Timmy Hill failed to qualify for the race.
Saturday’s FaithFest 250 will go green shortly after 12:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS1, NRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Heim is the race’s defending winner.
