From Omloop to the Tour

It is no coincidence that Wærenskjold points to one of cycling’s biggest classics as a dream target.

In 2025, he truly announced himself on the world stage with victory at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. He is also a former U23 time trial world champion — a reminder of the engine that has made him one of the most powerful riders in the peloton.

With sprint power, time trial strength and classics potential, Wærenskjold has become an important part of the team’s identity and ambitions.

Uno-X Mobility General Manager Thor Hushovd is delighted to see Wærenskjold commit his future to the team.

“Søren has been one of our best riders for years. He has put his faith in us — and we have put our faith in him — and together we have grown into a WorldTour team with WorldTour ambitions. I’m excited to see what kind of victories Søren will bring us in the years ahead,” says Hushovd.

Then he adds with a laugh:

“Also, when you are a sprinter from my part of southern Norway, you have to do a little extra in the negotiations.”
