The Saskatchewan Men’s Amateur Golf Championship has a new champion, and he’s only 15 years old.
Fifteen-year-old Austin Nesbitt is the new Saskatchewan Men’s Amateur golf champion.
The Pilot Butte product capped off an impressive week at Golf Kenosee by firing a final-round 2-under 70 on Friday to capture the 2026 Saskatchewan Men’s Amateur Championship by one shot to become the youngest winner ever.
Nesbitt finished the 72-hole event at 7-under par, edging Regina’s Drayjon Sparvier and first-round co-leader Ethan Hunter of Casa Rio, who both finished at 6-under with four-round totals of 282.
Nesbitt and Sparvier traded the lead throughout the final round before Nesbitt rolled in a pivotal birdie on the 15th hole to move ahead. He carried a one-shot advantage to the par-3 18th, where both players made bogey, allowing Nesbitt to secure the provincial title.
Saskatoon’s Max Regier, Aricin Franklin and Men’s Mid-Amateur champion Connor Scissons tied for fourth place.
The Saskatchewan Men’s Amateur Championship wrapped up a busy week at Golf Kenosee, where four provincial championships were decided.
The top 10 finishers from Friday earned spots in the 121st Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship, scheduled for July 27-30 at Mickelson National Golf Club in Calgary.
