The WNBA can’t fine this member of the Cunningham family, right?
Lindsey Cunningham — a former Missouri player, current assistant director of development for the Tigers women’s basketball team and the younger sister of Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham — blasted the WNBA’s officiating Sunday after her older sister went down with a knee injury against the Connecticut Sun.
Lindsey Cunningham’s post: “.@WNBA maybe you should focus less on fining players for commenting on your poor officiating & more about hiring officials that are able to call a consistent game and protect your athletes. Pathetic. Praying for you .@sophaller🙏🏼❤️”
Sophie Cunningham hasn’t been shy about criticizing WNBA officiating this year, already drawing fines from the league on at least two occasions. She also picked up a technical foul in the opening minute of Sunday’s game.
