Nova Scotia officials say a wildfire northeast of Halifax is now “being held” after burning out of control for days.
The province’s Natural Resources Department reports the Mooseland Road fire only grew overnight to 14.5 square kilometres, a small increase in size.
The department says ground crews will continue battling the fire but several aircraft that were previously involved in suppression efforts are not expected to be used today.

And residents of about 100 cottages, cabins and homes along Mooseland Road are able to return to area this morning after the province lifted an evacuation order triggered by the wildfire.
The province says Mooseland Road remains closed beginning at the intersection of Highway 7.
Local and provincial crews have been fighting the fire since Wednesday.
