Actors from Broken Records Production took the stage at Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain, CCFM, for the play, Mother’s Secret, on Sunday afternoon in the Winnipeg Fringe Festival.

The play-comedy was about two adult daughters trying to admit their eccentric mother into an assisted living facility.

In their ploy to do so, they discover unexpected and surprising things about their mother.

Character profiles

Actresses, Josie Long, and Callum Peppard, do a good job at embodying the characters of sisters, Krystyna and Virginia, respectively.  The bickering sisters make the show lighthearted, and their scenes are reminiscent of common sibling antics.

Judy Arnason does a great job as Pearl, the mysterious and headstrong but loving mother to her two daughters, Krystyna and Virginia.

Alison Kolisynk plays the witty and funny Vera, best friend to Pearl. Her sarcastic persona brings humour to the show.

Paul Nash plays Franco de Vincello III, a vengeful but absentminded antagonist trying to get retribution for his grandfather.
