Five players are on Hawthorn’s AFL injury list heading into Round 24.

Heading into a Sunday showdown against Brisbane in Round 24, Harry Morrison will face a test to prove his fitness for the trip to the Gabba.

The 26-year-old has been sidelined with a quad injury and hasn’t featured for the Hawks since Round 21.

Noah Mraz is also closing in on a return from his knee injury, while Finn Maginness, Will Day and Josh Weddle are all progressing through their rehabilitation programs.

High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided updates on Morrison, Mraz, Maginness and Weddle in this week’s injury update.

Harry Morrison – Quad (test)

“Harry’s made some progression over the weekend and at the end of last week. He has progressed to running faster and started some kicking on Monday. We’ll be progressing that over the week, there are two more training sessions left in the week. We’ll make an assessment as to his availability over the weekend.”

Noah Mraz – Knee (1 week)

“He’s resuming full training this week so he’s going to get a really good preparation coming into the VFL first final, which is in a fortnight’s time. It’s fantastic that he’s back training fully this week and he’ll be ready to go next week.”

Finn Maginness – Kidney (Season)

“Finn’s started a light exercise program, just some cycling. He’s spending a lot of time around the group, he’s even kicking the footys and was doing some kick-to-kick today outside. It was just really good to have him around the group. He’s progressing his exercise program over the next short period of time.”

Josh Weddle – Back (TBC)

“Weds is progressing into some modified training this week. As I mentioned previously, we have a scan early next week which will give us more information as to our progression. But right now, our plan is to do modified training this week, progressing into more training next week, but we just will be waiting to get the results of that scan which will be add to the information that we need to make a really smart and informed decision as to his progression back into full training and potentially match play.”
