1982.- Mexico’s Salvador Sánchez knocked out Ghana’s Azumah Nelson in the 15th round to defend his WBC featherweight title. The historic bout took place in New York. Tragically, this would be Sánchez’s final fight.
1990.- American Julian Jackson defended his WBA super welterweight title by defeating tough contender Ron Amundsen via decision, in a bout held in El Paso, Texas.
2000.- Spain’s Javier Castillejo defended his WBC super welterweight title by decisioning Tony Marshall. The fight took place in Madrid, Spain.
2001.- American Shane Mosley defended his WBC welterweight title by knocking out Britain’s Adrian Stone in the third round, in a bout held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
2007.- Venezuela’s Jorge Linares knocked out Mexico’s Oscar Larios in the 10th round in Las Vegas, Nevada. The vacant WBC featherweight title was on the line.
2007.- On the same card in Las Vegas, Nevada, Germany’s Arthur Abraham defended his IBF middleweight title by knocking out Canada’s Sébastien Demers in the seventh round.
2018.- Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk defended his WBC cruiserweight title and became the undisputed champion by defeating Russia’s Murat Gassiev by decision. The bout took place in Moscow, Russia.
