Surrey will receive nearly $30,000 from the provincial government for an IT upgrade to the city’s secondary Emergency Operations Centre.
Surrey-Guildford MLA Garry Begg announced this $29,846.26 infusion on July 21.
“This funding will allow Surrey to upgrade its secondary Emergency Operations Centre with modern IT and communications systems, ensuring emergency responders have accurate information that help keep our communities safe when emergencies unfold,” he said.
This is part of a provincial government initiative to distribute $3.5 million between 110 projects through a Community Emergency Preparedness Fund to support local emergency operations centres.
