A severe thunderstorm watch Toronto has ended after Environment Canada warned of torrential downpours, strong wind gusts and hail on Tuesday.
The national weather agency said the impact could be felt late Tuesday morning to early evening.
Local rainfall amounts were forecast be over 50 millimeters. Wind gusts between 90-110 km/h and “quarter to ping pong ball size hail” were also possible, the alert said. Southwestern Ontario faced the greatest likelihood for damaging winds.
Environment Canada categorized the thunderstorm watch as a yellow alert on its colour-coded alert system.
