St. Vital Walmart is set to reopen again on Thursday after being shut down because of arson. 

The Walmart, connected to the St. Vital Shopping Centre, was shut down on Monday, July 6. 

Roughly 200 employees and shoppers were evacuated around 7 p.m. after a fire broke out in the bedding section. 

Police arrest man allegedly involved

After an investigation, The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) arrested a 47-year-old man who is currently facing multiple charges, including arson.

The damage caused by the fire is estimated to be around $10 million. 

The Walmart has been taped off to the public for repairs for over two weeks, and on July 23, it will reopen with their regular store hours. 

It is unclear as to what area will be open, or if any section will be unavailable.
