He boxes three nights a week, does strength and conditioning every night in-between before either doing sprints or a long run at the weekend.
“It’s hard balancing everything, but I’m doing what I can,” he says.
“The guys I’ll be fighting, they’re full-time athletes, but I can’t afford to do that.
“I’ve got my business to run and that’s kind of what I want to do, so doing this will be a good experience for me to see what level I can actually get to.”
Teers and Niall Adams will fight for Guernsey as part of their 20-strong team going to Glasgow.
The bantamweight has twice reached the English Elite National semi-finals and has fought Ellis Trowbridge, who has been selected to represent England in Glasgow.
“I’m just going to give it my all, perform as best as I can that’s all I can ask for really,” he says.
“I know the competition’s going to be hard, it’s definitely a step up for me.
“But that’s what I want, I want to see how good I can get and how I can compete against those guys.”
