Montreal police (SPVM) say one person is in custody in connection with over a dozen break-ins and thefts in various neighbourhoods.
SPVM says the break-ins happened between the nights of July 3 and 20, in the boroughs of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Plateau-Mont-Royal, and Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.
It is believed that the individual had gained entrance into homes by forcing open patio doors or screen doors, and once inside, allegedly stole cash, cell phones, jewelry, and bank cards before fleeing.
Through an investigation, police were able to identify 29-year-old Naby Bangoura and took them into custody.
Bangoura is facing charges including breaking and entering, attempted breaking and entering, and theft.
