A bear was spotted in Cochrane’s Precedence neighbourhood this morning, prompting a reminder for residents to stay alert and give wildlife plenty of space.
The bear was seen around 8:05 a.m. on the green space behind Precedence along James Walker Trail. The animal appeared to be a small bear.
Residents are reminded to keep a safe distance and avoid approaching or interacting with the animal.
Bear encounters can happen in Cochrane
While seeing a bear in town can be surprising, officials say bears do regularly travel through Cochrane and surrounding areas.
