Want to celebrate the flavours of Cloverdale’s restaurants?

Taste of Cloverdale, hosted by the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce, is set to return and organizers are urging people to get tickets before it’s sold out. Taset of Cloverdale is back for its 2nd annual event and will be held in Shannon Hall on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds Aug. 21.

“Taste of Cloverdale is about celebrating the incredible businesses, people, and community that make Cloverdale so special,” Scott Wheatley, executive director of the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce, said in a press release. “It’s an opportunity to support our local restaurants and beverage producers while enjoying a fantastic evening with friends and neighbours.”

The Chamber says Taste of Cloverdale is one of the community’s “signature culinary events” as it brings together local food, beverages, and entertainment and combines it with community spirit.

“This year we’re proud to support the B.C. Vintage Truck Museum through the event,” Wheatley added.

He said partial proceeds from the event will support the truck museum. The museum’s mandate is to preserve British Columbia’s transportation, agricultural, and industrial history.

Wheatley said supporting Taste of Cloverdale also “helps preserve a treasured piece” of the province’s rich transportation history.

The one-day fest will showcase restaurants in Cloverdale, Clayton Heights, and Campbell Heights. The night will include sampling, networking, and live music. Guests can look forward to: tastings from local restaurants and food vendors; B.C. wines, craft beer, cider, and spirits; live entertainment by Lawless; and opportunities to connect with local businesses.

“We’re going to have a Lawless back,” Wheatley told the Cloverdale Reporter. “They’ll play during the evening.” Lawless is a Vancouver-based country band. They recently performed at both the Cloverdale Rodeo and the Chamber’s Chicken Dinner Dance.

Wheatley noted Mainland Whiskey will be back again this year as well as 1st ROW Winery from Campbell Heights.

He added they are looking for sponsors too. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event can reach out to the Chamber.

Taste of Cloverdale will run from 6-10 p.m. Aug. 21 in Shannon Hall (6050 176th Street) on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $60 or $85 (VIP). VIP entry includes everything along with exclusive table seating.
