Another Monday, another PGA Tour berth for Victoria golfer

Jeevan Sihota is heading back to the PGA Tour.
The Victoria golfer fired a seven-under 64 on Monday (July 20) to earn one of four qualifying spots into this week’s 3M Open, marking his second PGA Tour appearance in less than two months.
Competing in a 55-player Monday qualifying event in Minnesota, Sihota finished in a tie for second after making eight birdies and one bogey over 18 holes.
The result earns him a place in the 2026 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities, running July 23-26. The tournament features a purse of $8.8 million USD.
It will be Sihota’s second PGA Tour start of the season, following his appearance at the RBC Canadian Open in June. There, he carded rounds of 71 and 72 to finish at three-over, missing the cut by four shots after the two-round cut line landed at one-under.
Sihota has been in strong form on the Vancouver Golf Tour this season. The 22-year-old has competed in eight events, winning once, and currently sits fourth in the circuit’s season-long order of merit standings after capturing the season-long title in 2025.
“So great to see Jeevan continue to prove he belongs out there playing with the best players in the world,” the Vancouver Golf Tour shared on Instagram.
A longtime member of Gorge Vale Golf Club, Sihota turned professional in 2022 after opting to forgo dozens of NCAA Division I scholarship offers.
That same year, he made his PGA Tour Canada, now PGA Tour Americas, debut at the Royal Beach Victoria Open at Uplands Golf Club in Oak Bay. He finished tied for 31st, highlighted by a scorching second-round 64.
Sihota established himself as one of Canada’s top junior golfers at a young age. In 2017, at just 13 years old, he won the B.C. Juvenile Championship by 11 strokes despite competing in a tournament open to golfers aged 16 and under. Before that, he captured U.S. Kids World Championship titles at ages six, eight and 12.
According to the PGA Tour’s website, Sihota enters the week with a 41.1 per cent chance of making the cut, a 4.3 per cent chance of recording a top-10 finish, and a 0.3 per cent chance of winning the tournament.
He’ll be in a field that includes world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Hideki Matsuyama, Tom Kim, Jordan Spieth and Max Homa.
There will be eight Canadians in the field, including four from B.C.: Sihota, Adam Hadwin (Abbotsford), A.J. Ewart (Coquitlam) and Adam Svensson (Surrey).
Sihota is scheduled to tee off at 6:35 a.m. on Thursday (July 23) alongside Argentina’s Alejandro Tosti and American Nicholas Lindheim.
