WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Four days after Indiana native Hannah Rapp was killed in a crash while cycling in Texas, the Dark Side Boxing Club hosted a vigil to honor the former Boilermaker.
The gym, located in Brookston, is usually echoing with the sound of gloves hitting the punching bag. Instead, a mix of smiles, laughter, and tears filled the room Wednesday night as friends, family, and members of the local boxing community gathered together to remember Rapp’s life.
She trained at Dark Side Boxing for two years, through most of her amateur career and into her professional fighting career. Rapp graduated from Purdue in 2022.
The vigil offered some of her former teammates the opportunity to reminisce and reflect on the time they shared with her.
While Hannah’s legacy might not be defined by championship belts and statistics, her impact on the Lafayette and Indiana boxing communities will last for years to come.
