Toronto Police have arrested a 36-year-old Mississauga man following a human trafficking investigation that began in June.
According to a news release by Toronto police, suspect allegedly used deception, coercion and control to traffic a 32-year-old woman, forced her to take sexualized photos that were distributed online and the suspect allegedly kept the money she earned.
Benjamin was arrested on July 22 after investigators executed a search warrant at a Mississauga address. He faces multiple charges, including trafficking in persons, procuring, advertising another person’s sexual services, assault, uttering death threats, theft over $5,000, and benefiting financially from sexual services.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information or who may have been affected to contact Toronto Police.
