WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women’s tennis team was selected as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for the 2026 season, as announced by the ITA on Thursday.
This marks the eighth consecutive season that the Demon Deacons have been named an ITA All-Academic Team, and the 14th time under the direction of head coach Jeff Wyshner.
Additionally, seven Demon Deacons were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the program’s most since the 2022 season.
Sankavi Gownder earned her third career honor, while Heidi Bulger, Nevena Carton and Kady Tannenbaum were recognized for the second consecutive season. Stella Li, Aubrey Nisbet and Evie Oxford each earned the distinction for the first time.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale)
All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form
All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
