Doug and the Slugs perform uptown in White Rock

Despite some light rain to start, the popular Canadian band Doug and the Slugs performed for several fans Thursday (July 23) in uptown White Rock at Miramar Plaza.
Part of White Rock’s free Concerts at the Pier series, the Thursday night events are produced by the city and the White Rock Business Improvement Association.
There are still two more free shows in the concert series: South Asian Fusion band Delhi 2 Dublin plays the same venue — Miramar Village, 15187 Thrift Ave. — on Thursday, Aug. 20, while Ontario-based New Wave ’80s group Spoons plays on the waterfront, at West Beach/Memorial Park on Thursday, Aug. 27.
Concert-goers are encouraged to make reservations or order take out at one of White Rock’s amazing restaurants, as well to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the show.
Concerts start at 7 p.m., with headliners taking the stage at 8 p.m.
