Apple TV Officially Seals Silo's Fate Halfway Through Season 3 - Canada News Beep

Apple TV has multiple successful sci-fi shows on rotation, including Foundation, Silo, For All Mankind, and Invasion. This summer belongs to Silo, which is currently halfway through Season 3.

The show officially returned on July 3, and will wrap all ten episodes on Sept. 4. The sci-fi series has already been renewed for Season 4, which the cast has already filmed back-to-back with the current season. Almost halfway through Season 3, Apple TV officially confirmed at its first-ever Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic-Con that Silo Season 4 will release in the summer of 2027.

Silo’s Season 4 Will Be Its Last

While fans still have plenty of episodes left before Season 4 airs, the show’s creator, Graham Yost, told CBR exclusively at the San Diego Comic-Con what to expect from the new season, revealing fans will actually get a glimpse of it at the end of Season 3.

“Yeah, we filmed it,” Yost confirmed, adding that it will be released, “a year from now,” which is in line with the announced date.

As for what to expect, Yost teased, “I would say that the last two episodes of this season, Season 3, are two of the best episodes I’ve ever been involved with, and, yeah, very emotional.”

“But at the very end, and it was an idea from Apple, there’s a teaser for Season 4 that it’s incredibly moving and it’s just two minutes, it’s pretty cool.”

Silo Season 3 Was Divisive

Since Silo premiered, the Apple TV show was a hit with critics, and the series holds a fantastic 93% approval score across all three seasons. However, only 64% from the audience.

The most recent release is also the highest-rated season yet, with a Certified Fresh 100% rating from 27 reviews. Critics believed “Silo codifies its third season as a masterful dystopian tale with expertly driven character arcs and tighter narrative strings, fulfilling its promise of science fiction excellence.”

CBR’s own Katie Doll gave Silo Season 3 a positive review, highlighting that the series is “everything a show of this genre was meant to be.” The 10/10 review praises the way it adapts to the two timelines, the “fascinating upgrade” of Camille Sims, and teasing that, “at this rate, Silo is heading for a stellar ending that will be hard to beat, and perhaps then, people will finally recognize the spellbinding allure of Silo.”

However, audiences didn’t find the latest release so enthralling, even though only half the season has come out. Most of the complaints were related to the pacing, with some reviews calling it “dull and boring,” as well as the creative decision to have Juliet lose her memory at the beginning of the season following the Season 2 cliffhanger, and bringing back Bernard.

Even so, the series turned into an instant streaming hit. During the panel, series star Common revealed during the panel that he knew the show was a hit when his friends, as well as people on the street and flight attendants, stopped to tell him how much they loved the show.

Silo releases new episodes on Fridays on Apple TV until its Sept. 4 season finale. Season 4 will premiere in the summer of 2027.
