Tonight as people travel back to Vancouver Island on the BC Ferries route from Vancouver to Nanaimo (Duke Point or Departure Bay), travellers passengers are advised that vehicle deck space has reached capacity “for the remainder of the day”.
BC Ferries issued this advisory to media at 8:13 pm.
Foot passenger space remains available. It’s recommended that passengers arrive at the terminal 45 to 60 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing that they intend to travel on.
Congestion in parking lots is expected to be “Very busy”, so BC Ferries asks people to consider using a taxi or public transit or to be dropped off at the terminal.
