Peel Regional Police say that one face first degree murder charge and they are searching for two additional suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a Brampton man earlier this summer.
The shooting happened on the evening of June 4 in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Crown Victoria Drive. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found 38-year-old Jamal Edwards of Brampton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peel police say that followin an intensive investigation, homicide detectives arrested 24-year-old Bakiram Balakumar of Scarborough on July 21. He has been charged with first-degree murder and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Investigators say two other suspects remain at large. Police have release a surveillance video that captured images of the pair, and police are asking the public for help identifying them. Authorities warn the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous and advise anyone who sees them not to approach them but to call 911 immediately.
