Who wants to hang out in Pirates Cove?
While it may sound like a setting for a Johnny Depp film, Pirates Cove is actually a place in B.C., off the coast of De Courcy Island.
And in Pirates Cove sits Eaglet Island, a fitting name for a 1.2-acre piece of rocky land covered in forest.
The private island is less than 40 km from Vancouver in the Gulf Islands, potentially offering a unique commute to someone who’s comfortable boating to the office. It’s also about a 10-minute boat ride from Gabriola Island, and Nanaimo isn’t much further.
That said, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom house is set up for a full-time residence and includes a workshop, so it may be better suited to a work-from-home type of person. The custom post-and-beam house was built about 30 years ago.
Along with the house, there’s a workshop, greenhouse and infrastructure on the island (including some solar panels).
The house and island are currently on the market for $2.6 million, which isn’t much more than a benchmark house in Vancouver.
