Delta Fastpitch marks successful season

Delta Fastpitch Association is celebrating another successful season, with teams across the association earning medals, competing at provincial championships, qualifying for nationals, and representing Delta throughout B.C. and beyond.
Leading the way was DFA’s Inferno 2011A team, which captured provincial gold in Langford after earning bronze in Calgary and gold at the Summer Series tournament in Maple Ridge. The championship victory secured the team a berth to the national championships and marked one of Delta Fastpitch’s biggest accomplishments of the season.
The Inferno 2012A team also delivered an outstanding campaign. After finishing fourth at the same competitive Calgary tournament, they went on to earn bronze at provincials, also securing qualification for the national championships.
Both U15A teams are now representing Delta Fastpitch at nationals in Fredericton, N.B. from July 28 to Aug. 2.
Delta’s rep program was also well represented at provincial championships across the province, with Inferno 2013B, Inferno 2014A, Inferno 2012B, Inferno 2010A, Inferno 2009B, and Inferno 2008A competing against the province’s best and gaining valuable championship experience.
Delta Fastpitch’s house program also enjoyed a successful championship season, highlighted by the Delta Rogue U20C team’s gold medal in Squamish and bronze-medal finish at the U20C provincials in Maple Ridge.
Delta’s senior women’s team, the Delta Legends, also earned bronze at the Senior D provincials in Richmond. Delta Fastpitch was also represented at provincial championships across the province, with the Delta Mavericks and Delta Panthers competing at the U17C provincials in Enderby and the Delta Reign participating in the U15C provincials in Port Alberni.
At the U13C level, the Delta Blue Blazers earned a fifth-place finish at regionals, while the Delta Tsunami, Delta Cherry Bombs, and Delta Flames captured gold, silver, and bronze respectively in the B bracket of the same competition.
Delta also hosted another successful edition of the U11C Delta Cup, where the Mayhem captured gold, the Jalapeño Poppers earned silver, and the Phoenix claimed bronze, capping off a successful weekend for Delta’s youngest athletes.
Another highlight of the summer was the Canada Cup International Softball Championship, one of the country’s premier softball events.
Delta Fastpitch served as a co-host at North Delta Community Park, welcoming athletes and fans from around the world. Delta was represented by Inferno 2008A, 2009B, 2010A, and 2010B teams, giving local athletes the opportunity to compete on an international-calibre stage close to home.
