Former Spurs television announcer Jacob Tobey may not be on the sidelines for long.
A source tells Maximum Sports that Tobey is receiving “significant” interest from several NBA organizations looking to round out their broadcast teams following his departure from the Spurs.
The source also said Tobey received a phone call from former Spurs coach Gregg Popovich last week. However, the nature of their conversation was not disclosed.
The source said no legal action has been taken regarding Tobey’s departure from the Spurs. While that possibility has not been completely dismissed, the current focus appears to be on the growing interest from around the league as Tobey weighs his next opportunity.
