Police in Edmonton have charged a 33-year-old woman following the stabbing death of another woman in the city’s west end Hamptons neighbourhood.
On the evening of July 26, police responded to a report of an altercation outside of a residence, according to an Edmonton Police Service news release sent on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, officers found Zubaria Khan, 27, with life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital but died, police said.
A July 27 autopsy determined Khan’s cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
Police arrested 33-year-old Fahimah Rahimi, 33, at the scene and have charged her with second-degree murder. The two women were known to each other, police said.
Investigators say they are not seeking any additional suspects at this time.
