After four months apart, General Hospital’s Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) have finally reunited in a series of odd scenes in which they said they loved one another, but didn’t really show it. While the scenes were sweet, some fans were left with some hope for the couple’s future, while others wondered if this could be the end of a pair that never really got off the ground.
Jason and Britt’s Odd Romance
In 2021, Jason and Britt fell for one another when they were on the run and tried to make it work when they returned to Port Charles, but he was forced to marry Carly (Laura Wright) to protect Sonny‘s (Maurice Benard) criminal organization when Sonny was presumed dead. After Sonny showed up alive and well, Jason was presumed dead for two years.
By the time he returned, Britt was presumed dead, so the soap trope of alleged deaths has kept Britt and Jason at arm’s length for the last five years. They were so close to finally being together in March, but then the WSB took Jason away when he took the fall for Rocco’s (Finn Carr) shooting Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). Jason was released from prison two weeks ago, but immediately embarked on a road trip with Danny (Asher Antonyzyn).
When they got back, Jason headed straight to see Britt. It looks like they are going to try to make it work this time, but are fans feeling it?
“Their hugs are so awkward,” one fan wrote on X. “I can’t with them. Everything about Jason and Britt feels so awkward and forced. I’m uncomfortable.”
Other fans like the way Britt acts when she is around Jason, as she is able to show more vulnerability. As one fan put it: “Britt can drop her defenses around Jason and she owns up to all her flaws and bad decisions. Jason looks at Britt for the sum of her parts and sees the best in her. Love them.”
“No one can predict what will happen on a soap but all I know my couple love each other and they made that clear again today!” an excited viewer said, just hoping that ‘JaBritt’ works out this time around.
In the end, while Jason and Britt fans are happy GH didn’t put an end to their relationship immediately, they fear it won’t be smooth sailing ahead, with one fan saying, “As happy as we all are for Jason & Britt, I’m worried it will get bumpy when Jason finds out Britt knew abt Cassius the whole time.”
