A woman is dead after being hit by a CTrain on Monday afternoon.
Calgary Police Service says a woman allegedly walked into a prohibited area of the Shaganappi Point LRT Station along Bow Trail, S.W. just after 4 p.m. on July 27.
While in the prohibited area, a CTrain approached the station from the east, and the woman walked onto the tracks. The CTrain operator used the train’s horn and emergency brakes; however, the train collided with the woman.
Paramedics responded to the scene and took the woman to a hospital where she later died.
CPS is investigating and believes that the woman may have been impaired at the time of the incident.
