July 30 weather: High that feels above 30 C in southern Ontario

Thursday could bring a high that feels above 30 C in the Greater Toronto Area and thunderstorms to parts of southern Ontario.

Environment and Climate Change Canada says the morning will be sunny with a 20 km/h wind gusting up to around 40 km/h in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.

The daytime high will be around 28 C in Mississauga but could feel more like 32 C due to the humidity. The UV index will be 8 or “very high,” the weather agency says.

There’s a risk of thunderstorms during the day in some parts of the province, including Smiths Falls, Belleville, Kingston, Ottawa and Petawawa.

Conditions could get cloudy into Thursday evening across the GTA with an overnight low of 16 C expected.

Friday could bring a mix of sun and cloudy conditions with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 27 C in Mississauga. More showers and a low of 19 C are possible in the evening.

The weekend is expected to be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers throughout the day, a high 24 C and a low of 14 C in Mississauga. There’s another 40 per cent chance of showers on Sunday with a high of 26 C and a low of 15 C.

Sunny skies are expected to return for the start of next week. Monday will bring a mix of sun and clouds, a High 27 C and a low of 14 C to Mississauga. Tuesday will also be sunny with a high of 29 C expected.

The seasonal normals in Mississauga are between 15 C and 26 C.
