For the first time ever, Edmonton may spend more on summer storm aftermath than winter. City manager Eddie Robar estimates the clean-up costs for the non-stop storms this summer will be between $20 and $30 million and said this is the first time he’s seen summer storm aftermath costs surpass winter ones. But as Gates Guarin explains, there are no plans to adjust the upcoming budget to accommodate for rainfall.
