It’s one of the most recognizable film sets in the city, but it looks kind of like the end of the world—and that’s because it is…sort of.
The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic zombie drama with a cult-like following that has filmed several seasons in British Columbia, with several larger-than-life sets in Metro Vancouver.
Production company Bear and Pear Productions Inc. began filming under the working title “Calm Current” on March 2 and will continue through Nov. 27.
A New Westminster resident and local film enthusiast who uses the handle @CaptCanuck66 on X, formerly Twitter, shared several photos of the film set, noting that the interior of BC Place was decorated to appear like Seattle Stadium (have a look at the photo gallery).
The Metro Vancouver man also noted lots of “Wolf” vehicles, which are heavily armoured. They look like military vehicles that the show frequently uses for dystopian scenes of the wasteland world.

The HBO zombie drama stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) and Nico Parker (Dumbo).
The third instalment of the show is speculated to be the final season and focus on Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), as she tells the story from the beginning of the zombie apocalypse and after killing Joel (Pascal).
