Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) life is hanging in the balance in Emmerdale.
At the conclusion of yesterday’s episode, he was seen unconscious on the floor of the depot with blood spilling from his head. It comes amid suspicions about his relationship with ex-wife Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley).
The pair had shared a brief kiss, but were interrupted by her fiancé Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). He was already suspicious, given Billy’s new girlfriend Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) had warned that Dawn had shown an unusual interest in whether she was using contraception with him.
It was clear to her that Dawn couldn’t bear the thought of him being with anyone else.
Joe decided to play the long game and wait to see whether they would show signs of affection in front of him. He brought the whole family together for a meal at The Hide Bistro, and amid a tense atmosphere, asked Billy to be one of his groomsmen.

Former guardian Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) thought this was unusual, given he’d usually strike while the iron was hot.
Just hours later, Joe’s uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash) explained that Billy had confided in him about the kiss, though he was in disbelief and was sure that Dawn wouldn’t betray him – especially since she’s carrying his baby.
However, would Joe really go as far as to attack Billy? Let’s be real, he probably would.

In today’s episode, Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) and Kerry Pollard (Laura Norton) found a lifeless Billy and he was rushed to hospital. A detective arrived at the depot to investigate, and quickly came to the conclusion that he’d been assaulted.
Business owner Caleb quickly pointed the finger towards Joe, considering what he knew about Billy and Dawn. The copper agreed that there was certainly a motive, and decided to bring the millionaire into the station after arresting him for GBH.
Dawn was devastated, wanting to believe that Joe was a reformed character.
But did he really attack Billy?
