A Mississauga townhouse has sold for a huge loss this month.

Home prices saw some upward movement in June — the average hit $1,014,120 in June, just slightly below the June 2025 average of $1,019,578, but well above May’s average price of $971,047, according to Toronto Regional Real Estate Board data.

Detached homes saw the biggest jump, with the average selling price increasing 8.4 per cent to $1,482,130 month-over-month. This was also up from the June 2025 average of $1,442,898.

Townhouses and condos, however, saw price declines. The average price of a townhouse, at $883,038, was down from the June 2025 average of $946,389.

While lower prices are good for buyers, sellers are continuing to lose money if they purchased homes a few years ago.

Power of sale transactions, which can happen when a homeowner defaults on their mortgage, are increasing across the Greater Toronto Area.

And homes continue to sell for huge losses. A Mississauga home sold for a $425,000 loss in March, another sold for a whopping $1.1 million loss earlier in July.

The latest example is a townhouse at  9 – 3665 Flamewood Dr. in Mississauga.

This place sold for $992,000 in February 2022, according to online real estate records.

It was listed for $549,000 this June, and sold for $450,000, a $542,000 loss, this week.

“Mississauga townhouses are now 55% down from the 2022 highs,” real estate commentator ShaziGoalie said on X.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom townhouse is in Applewood Hills. Features include hardwood floors, a patio, custom cabinets in the kitchen, an updated main bathroom and a finished basement with a recreation room and three-piece bathroom.
