A 24-year-old man from the United Kingdom has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed carjacking that took place in Mississauga last year.
The incident occurred on Feb. 4, 2025, when the victim was sitting in a commercial vehicle near Torbram Road and Derry Road East. Peel Regional Police allege two masked suspects armed with handguns approached the victim, pointed the weapons at him, and forced him out of the vehicle before fleeing.
Following the investigation, officers identified Raheem Hartley as one of the suspects. Police say Hartley left Canada shortly after the alleged carjacking, prompting the issuance of a Canada-wide arrest warrant in December 2025.
On July 16, 2026, Hartley was arrested after arriving on an international flight at Toronto’s airport.
Hartley has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent, and using an imitation firearm while committing an offence. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
