Raheem Hartley (24), of the United Kingdom has been charged.
A 24-year-old man from the United Kingdom has been arrested after Peel Regional Police allege he fled Canada following an armed carjacking in Mississauga earlier this year.
According to investigators, the suspect returned to Toronto on an international flight on July 16 and was arrested upon landing at Pearson Airport on an outstanding Canada-wide warrant.
The charges stem from a carjacking that occurred on Feb. 4, 2025, at about 4:30 p.m. in the area of Torbram Road and Derry Road East.
Police say the victim was sitting inside a commercial vehicle when two masked suspects approached armed with handguns. The suspects allegedly pointed the firearms at the victim before forcing him from the vehicle and stealing it.
Following an investigation by Peel Regional Police’s Central Robbery Bureau, officers identified Raheem Hartley, 24, of the United Kingdom, as one of the alleged suspects.
Investigators say Hartley left Canada shortly after the carjacking. A Canada-wide warrant for his arrest was issued in December 2025 after police determined he had fled the country.
When Hartley returned to Canada on July 16, officers arrested him at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Hartley has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent, and use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence.
He was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice.
