Slovenian ski jumper-turned Grand Tour winner Primoz Roglic revealed that he was recently hit by a car during training.

Roglic appears to have escaped any major injuries or broken bones. He was showing some serious bruising on his thigh, though.

That was enough to take the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe rider out of racing at San Sebastian and in Burgos.

Roglic was rather matter of fact about the setback, sharing simply:

“Not the best scenario, but its life,eh.”

He added he’s still “All systems go” for the upcoming Vuelta a Espania. Roglic will be chasing a fifth Vuelta win. He also has a Giro d’Italia to his name.

Roglic is the latest, and most high-profile professional to be hit by a car. Riders weren’t even safe during the Tour de France, where a couple of riders were involved with incidents with vehicles before and after the ITT stage.
