Police are asking for the public’s help locating two Calgary men wanted in connection with an April shooting that left a man critically injured.
The Medicine Hat Police Service said officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Seventh Street Southeast on April 29 after receiving a report of a shooting.
Police found an adult man suffering from a serious gunshot wound.
Victim airlifted to Calgary
Officers provided emergency care until paramedics arrived.
The victim was taken to hospital in Medicine Hat and later airlifted to Calgary with life-threatening injuries.
Police said the man survived and continues to recover.
Arrest warrants issued
Following an investigation by the Major Crime Unit, police issued arrest warrants for 31-year-old Robert Bourassa and 26-year-old Levi Chudyk, both of Calgary.
Bourassa is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, careless use of a firearm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
He also faces two counts of failing to comply with a firearms prohibition order.
Chudyk is wanted on similar charges, along with pointing a firearm, obstructing a peace officer and three counts of failing to comply with a firearms prohibition order.
The allegations have not been proven in court.

Police are warning members of the public not to approach or attempt to apprehend either man.

The investigation remains ongoing.
