A person in their 20s is recovering after being stabbed while waiting for a bus near The Forks.
Winnipeg police say the victim was waiting for a bus in the 1-99 block of Israel Asper Way at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday when he was stabbed by an unknown man who appeared out of nowhere.
Police response
The officers who responded to the call provided the victim with emergency medical care before they were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Suspect arrested
The suspect, a 35-year-old man, fled but was located and arrested a short time later in the 1-99 block of Forks Market Road.
He is facing several charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and failure to comply with condition of a release order.
He remains in custody.
