Ramara residents without a local family doctor can get help registering for Ontario’s Health Care Connect at an in-person clinic at Ramara Medical Centre

The Couchiching Ontario Health Team (COHT) is making it easier for Ramara residents to register for Health Care Connect by hosting an in-person registration event at the Ramara Medical Centre.
Community members who are currently without a local family doctor or nurse practitioner are invited to attend on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ramara Medical Centre, 3242 Ramara Road 47, Brechin, where COHT team members will be available to help eligible residents complete their Health Care Connect registration on-site.
The event is intended to reduce barriers to accessing primary care by providing another convenient way for residents to join the Health Care Connect list. With new primary care providers now accepting patients in Ramara, this event offers eligible residents an easy way to register and take the first step toward being connected to care. Priority will continue to be given to Ramara residents as part of this local physician recruitment initiative.
Residents attending the event must bring a valid Ontario Health Card showing their current address, as this is required to complete registration.
“After years without access to local primary care services in Ramara, we are very pleased to support the opening of this new clinic and the positive impact it will have on residents,” said Angela Munday, Executive Director of the Couchiching Ontario Health Team. “We know how important timely access to primary care is for the health and well-being of our communities, and we are excited to share that space is available for new patients.”
Munday emphasized that Health Care Connect is the only way to be added to the patient list for the new providers at Ramara Medical Centre and encouraged residents who are still looking for a family doctor or nurse practitioner to register as soon as possible.
“We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Orillia and Lake Country Physician Recruitment team for their hard work and dedication in bringing this valuable healthcare resource to Ramara,” added Munday.
Health Care Connect is Ontario’s centralized patient registration program that connects eligible residents without a family doctor or nurse practitioner to available primary care providers. By hosting in-person registration events, the Couchiching Ontario Health Team is helping ensure residents have multiple ways to register and connect to care closer to home.
Residents who are already registered with Health Care Connect do not need to register again and should monitor their email for further information. If your contact information has changed, please contact Health Care Connect to ensure your information is up to date.
Residents who are already attached to a primary health care provider and are interested in becoming a patient of the new physicians in Ramara are encouraged to register with Health Care Connect. Patients do not need to leave their current provider to go on the Health Care Connect list.
